I’ve been to Disney World many, many times over the last 30 years. It has rained at least once on every trip as far back as I can remember. Fortunately most of those storms were fast and furious. Suddenly the skies open up, and the rain is torrential for a short time–maybe 15 minutes or so–then as quickly as it came, it’s gone. The sun reappears, and the day is perfect again!

Avery’s hair looks fabulous after a little Disney rain storm!
So, what do you do it it rains during your Disney vacation?? As Dory would say, “Just keep swimming!” Don’t let a little rain ruin your entire vacation!!
Here are a few tips to help you enjoy your trip, even during those famous Florida rain storms!
I hope these tips help you plan for any rain that may come your way on your next trip to the Disney parks! And, like I said, don’t let a little rain ruin your vacation!

I’m loving all of the Disney posts! Great advice!!!
What great advice. I have been there when it poured! We have to make the best of it- we are in the greatest place in the county:)
oh yes! Been there done that during those torrential rains!! But like you said, it passes so fast and soon there is great weather again! So funny!
I remember those downpours! We usually watched the sky, timed dinner based upon the late afternoon/evening storm … we’d go inside, eat, and by the time we were done, the storm was gone. Perfect. 😉
My favorite time ever at disneyland was the day after thanksgiving when I was about 12. It rained all day and there were NO lines. It was awesome!
Put on a poncho and keep going! A little rain won’t stop me!! 😉
Oh, Sarah… this post brought back SO many memories of when my 4 kids were young and we were at Disney! I always packed bathing suits and lots of plastic bags (for dry clothing) in my backpack and we would head to water attractions during downpours (no thunder or lightning, when the attractions are closed anyway!). We’ve been at Typhoon Lagoon, laughing at the rain! Of course, ponchos are always packable and important. I also am one of those Moms (and now Grandma) who stashes a big ol’ bag of clothing in my car for just about everyone… for rain, spills, chill, etc. I can face any element if I know I have a change of clothing! Great post… xo!
Yup, every time I’ve been to Disney we’ve gotten stuck in a torrential downpour at least once! Like you said, though, it’s usually super quick. Ponchos are definitely a must!
A little (or lot) of rain won’t stop ya! It’s vacation!
I am so so so excited about planning a trip to Disney World for our girls. I can’t believe I haven’t been there since 1983! I was 6 years old and I don’t think I cared if it rained either. I love your tips! Thanks
Ahh Jodi, that’s awesome! You’ll have such an amazing time. A LOT has changed since 1983 haha If you have ANY questions feel free to ask (I’m a Disney Travel Professional!) and I’d be happy to help you out!
I went in June once and it rained a lot, it looked like a sea of yellow ponchos. We didn’t care.
What a great post! Plus it was fun putting your face to your name
We have only been to CA Disneyland, looking forward to a trip to Disney World!
Love this post! We were so lucky that we completely missed rain the entire week we were there, but we were prepared with our rain jackets and umbrellas, just in case
I can’t wait to take the kids to Disney! And yes I definitely have memories of those quick FL rainstorms, haha. Avery is adorable in her princess dress
Love your vlog! You’re so cute!!! We had rain for a little bit too! Loved how it cleared things out a bit!
That first photo is beautiful. I hope to take the kids to Disney sometime in the next few years.
