6 Travel Gifts that Kids will love!
Our family loves to travel! I have cousins who are currently continuing their overlanding trip across Africa (You can follow their AMAZING journey here: maggieinafrica.com) My other cousin and her husband have spent much of their time traveling the world, even riding bikes across the country, and I know they are planning for when their new little baby is ready for his first big adventure!
Then you have us, the Disney people.
This year, we’re setting sail on a Disney cruise with my aunts & uncles and my parents. It’s going to be fabulous, and we’re all very excited! I wanted to include some travel gifts under the tree for Avery so I checked out UncommonGoods, one of my FAVORITE online stores!
Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, UncommonGoods is a privately-owned retailer that endeavors to feature unique jewelry, designer décor, tabletop items, and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment without harm to animals or people. We run all our operations out of the historic Brooklyn Army Terminal, where the lowest-paid seasonal worker starts at 50% above the minimum wage. We make it our mission to support and provide a platform for artists and designers; in fact, half of what we sell is made by hand. Most of the jewelry products, home décor and table top items we carry are created right here in the USA, and about one-third of our entire collection incorporates recycled and/or upcycled materials. At the core of our company is a great respect for the integrity of the creative individual and the belief that it is our responsibility to use our business to impact the world in a positive way.
Can you see why I love them so much? Awesome products from an awesome company!!
They have a whole bunch of curated lists for those who are shopping for someone or something specific. I love the great ideas they share for Gifts Under $50 and a list with some unique Stocking Stuffers–Two things I always have trouble shopping for! They also have wonderful ideas for those teen boys who are often so hard to buy for!
They also had a great selection of gifts for travelers! So that’s where I headed first! Here are a few of my favorite gifts for the kid who loves to travel:
Travel Stub Diary $12
Buy It Here!
Whenever we go on a trip, I end up collecting things. Like, everything. Ticket stubs, wrist bands, brochures, cute notes left by housekeeping, hotel letterhead, etc. I always have great plans to do something with them, but they end up on the pocket of my suitcase, to be discovered (and often thrown our, sadly) when we pack for our next trip. But not this year! Now we have our Travel Stub Diary, where we can save items in the clear sleeves and write down notes about each item, preserving those memories!
50 States Vocab Flashcards $24
Buy It Here!
We are always looking for fun ways to keep Avery occupied on road trips and flights. I thought these bright flashcards would be a fun way to pass the time. These flashcards will teacher her the states and their capitals as well as some cool landmarks or icons!
Art Cubes $12
Buy It Here!
So, I *may* have gotten these for myself, but I know Avery will love them too! In fact, our whole family will! Avery LOVES to draw, and it’s a great way to keep her busy on the plane as well as in our hotel room during quiet time, or while the rest of us are getting ready. It’s also great to keep in your purse to play at restaurants! You roll the dice and draw! It could be a Unicorn riding a bike up a ladder or maybe a shark in a bow-tie swimming through a rainbow! The possibilities are endless, but you’ll never have to ask “What should I draw?”
Children’s World Map $17
Buy It Here!
After “traveling the world” with her class last year, Avery has been very interested in other countries! I wanted to get her a map for her room, so when she asks “Where IS Botswana?” I can show her. This map is brightly colored, and has pictures showing landmarks, animals, ad even the foods the area is known for. And it’s laminated so sticky kid fingers won’t leave their mark permanently 😉
Snack in the Box & Drink in the Box $12-$15
Drink-Buy It Here! Snack-Buy It Here!
We all know how important snacks and drinks are when traveling with kids. Having a snack on hand can absolutely save the day. On the road, in the air, on the trail, you’d better pack some snacks! These boxes are BPA and Phthalate free, lightweight and durable! The Snack Boxes have two compartments so you can provide two different snack options. The lids are attached so you don’t have to worry about the shout from the back seat that “MOMMY!! I lost the lid!!” And, even better news? The Drink Box is leak-proof!
Random Acts of Kindness Kits (Available in Original, Teen, and Family versions) $10-$15
Buy It Here!
“Leave a note of praise for someone to find” “Write a letter to a teacher who inspired you.” “Plant a seed!” We all love Random Acts of Kindness, right? This is a great gift for a family every day of the year, but I thought it would also be a great thing to do on vacation, or while traveling in general. Think of what you could learn if you “Meet one new person every day this week” or the stories you might hear when you “Buy a stranger a cup of coffee” and take the time to talk to them! You may learn some history about the town you’re visiting, or even a secret beach or best restaurant known only to the locals! Also, I thinks it is very important to be a gracious guest whether you’re in someone’s home, or visiting a new country. There are many ways to say “Thank You” and give back to the place you are visiting!
And, because I love you all so much, here’s a bonus #7 great gift idea!
Sleeper Hero Bedtime Buddy $50
Buy It Here!
Bedtime can be a big issue when we travel. New place, new room, new bed…It can throw our routine way out of whack! Sleeper Hero can help with that routine, and make bedtime easier in general! This set comes with the doll and a story book. The doll is not only a great cuddle buddy, but has a programmable light that shines red to signal bedtime and green when it’s time to wake up! Sleeper Hero is great to use at home, and to bring with you on trips. Kids will know that no matter where they are, they will have their Sleeper Hero with them!
Now, head over to UncommonGoods for all your holiday gifts, and check out their blog while you’re there!
Do you have any tiny travelers on your Holiday list? Which of these travel gifts do you think they’d like best?

Love Uncommon Goods!!
They have the coolest stuff, right,!
These are all fantastic. I really love the Flash cards, and the Art Cubes. Those will definitely come in handy on a airplane ride.
Seriously, you and I are going to use those art cubes the most lol
You had me at leak proof drink-box (my car doors MAY be splattered with mystery liquid from non leak proof boxes)
We have a Drink Box and Stella uses it every day. She tosses it in her backpack and it amazes me that it does not leak at all.
Darling ideas!
I really love the card and the art work. But one that got my attention is the use of diary. I want my kids to keep detailed info on their daily activities by keeping record so they can read once they grow up.

Thank you for the ideas, I was thinking whether to try gifting an electric skateboard as a gift to keep my child more active, but I can’t afford it still. A good book will suffice
