You guys. I have a confession to make. I’m embarrassed, but I think at least a few of you will be able to relate.
There, I said it. I hoard digital photos. Want me to check out that awesome new app? Sorry, can’t, no room on my phone, because I have 3,679 pictures on there. It’s bad. But what am I supposed to do? I can’t print them all, it would cost too much to send them to one of those fancy pants square photo printers, right? I can go the less expensive route, at one of our local big box stores, but then I have to drive there and pick them up, and I’m a little lazy, and I’m not always thrilled with the quality, and often, the mood to print photos (and do crafts) strikes me long after the stores have closed…
So, I decided to take a leap, and get a NICE printer, and print my own!! And not only print them, but actually DO SOMETHING with the photos I print!
While at Walmart,I saw the HP Envy 4512 All-in-One Printer/Copier/Scanner and knew it was perfect for us! We needed something that could easily print photos, as well as copy and scan the documents we use for work! This fit the bill!
I took it home, and was thrilled to discover that it was easy to set up! Once we got everything set up and connected to the WiFi, I was ready to print!!
This Christmas, we’re trying to keep to a strict budget, but I really love giving gifts (like, a whole lot, to the point of spending our last penny on a gift that I just know someone will LOVESOMUCH!) I know our family members love receiving photos of Avery (at least the say they do) on the rare occasion that I have them printed. So, I wanted to create fun gifts for family and friends to cherish.
I’ve made shadow boxes in the past, and thought they would make really nice gifts! And they are simple to make, and wont break the bank! I love that you can create different themes. Maybe you’ll make one highlighting your child’s first dance class, or championship baseball team, maybe you’ll do a cute baking theme, or something with your child’s artwork. The possibilities are endless!
- Shadow Box
- Photos to fit your theme
- Keepsake items
Step One: Decide on your theme, and choose any keepsakes that you’d like to include.
Step Two: Select and print your photos
It is simple to print photos right from your phone using the All-in-One Remote app! I was really impressed! You just connect your phone or tablet and the printer to your in home WiFi and you can print photos you photos and share them, immediately with friends and family!!
Step Three: Play around with the layout. Don’t pin anything down until you’re happy with the placement.
Step Five: Close up the shadow box.
Step Six: Give the gift, and display!
While I was working on our shadow boxes, Avery was working on her own project! Adorable gift tags printed from our new printer!
