This Mother’s Day we took a special little trip to Boston. We didn’t really have anything planned, and just wanted to wander around the city a bit…
But first, I had to open my cards and gifts from my super awesome little family (Yes, the dog and cats give me cards as well!)
After the gifts, we headed to The Prudential Center, where we parked, then shopped and had a little breakfast.
Then we wandered around the Fenway Victory Gardens where we saw a few momma geese and their babies who were also celebrating Mother’s Day!
We admired the architecture of the city. I just LOVE the juxtaposition of old and new.
And, what trip to Boston is complete without a trip to the greatest ballpark in the country? It was Avery’s first trip to Fenway, and she got to see where her mommy and daddy first said “I Love You” and where we got engaged! I was incredibly sad that we didn’t have tickets to the game…
We walked around the city a bit more, and found ourselves at the Marathon memorials. It was very moving, as we passed by, in silence.
We started getting hungry, and realized that we were right near that place, where everybody knows your name! So of course we headed in to visit with Norm, and Sam and Carla (and the rest of the crew) Unfortunately they must have all been at the Sox game and we had a server we didn’t recognize, and some guy named Diddy behind the bar!!
Avery loved having her first drink at the Set Bar!
After lunch we headed to the Boston Public Gardens. The line for the Swan boats was insane so we passed, but we did enjoy many fun street performances!
And took some photos with the tulips!
Before leaving we decided to grab some ice cream from Boston Frosty! I gave Avery a taste of mine and she voiced her approval with a “Yum, Yum!”
At this point I was absolutely exhausted, and my cold was really hitting me hard so we decided to head home. It was a really great Mother’s Day, spent with my amazing family and I could not have asked for more!

It sounds like an amazing day (with the exception of the cold!)! Your pictures are, as always, incredible. I especially like the ones with the tulips! I love all the cards – and got a gift from one of the dogs myself yesterday! It looks like Avery was right on point with your gifts, too… smart little girl! Happy belated Mother’s Day!
Thank you!!
