Last week, Avery and I took a ride on the train! This wasn’t just any train ride, though. This was the Grace Thomas, American Girl, Girl of the Year, Train Ride!!! The train took us through the scenic Blackstone Valley, and we were entertained from start to finish!
We arrived at the depot, and enjoyed a trio of musicians playing lovely French music. There were photo opps, and desserts (including decorate your own options) by Sweet Indulgence. We boarded the train and met our enthusiastic guide, the Conductor who punched out tickets, and Chef Robin who “made” our delicious cupcakes and lemonade!
Upon boarding, the girls were given really lovely goodie bags filled with treasures. I spent the first ten minutes of the ride changing Avery’s doll out of her old clothes and into her new American Girl t-shirt.
We learned to count in French, sang French songs, and played bingo! (Shockingly, EVERYONE won!)
We attended the event with friends and both girls had an incredible time! The smiles never left their faces until it was time to go home.
We headed back in to take a few more photos, then went home (Mommy was completely exhausted!)
It was really such a wonderful event, and Avery has not stopped talking about it! Thank you American Girl, and Blackstone Valley Tourism Council for making so many little girls dreams come true!
