Jack O Lantern Spectacular

Last week Dave and I headed to Roger Williams Park Zoo to see our favorite fall event, the Jack O Lantern Spectacular.

The zoo holds this even every year from the beginning of October until  Halloween.  The Zoo has just announced that they will be EXTENDING the event until November 6th this year!! That’s a whole extra week of AWESOME! Hours are from 6-10pm (with the trail closing by 11pm) And features THOUSANDS (yes, seriously!) of glowing pumpkins, hundreds of them hand carved!

The theme this year is “A Journey Around the World.” From India to Ireland, Germany, to Italy, and everything in between you’ll be blown away by the intricate details carved out in pumpkins.  These aren’t your every day jack-o-lanterns, these are amazing works of art!

Here are just a few photos I took, none of which truly do justice to the carvings.

Our favorites are the animals!

Some pumpkins are extremely creepy!

Some look more like paintings.

Visiting the Land Down under. Awww!!

We can’t wait to bring our kiddo to this!  Ive heard people ask if it was too “scary” for little ones.  It’s not!  There are a few creepy pumpkins, but this is not a hunted house type event, no monsters will jump out from behind gourds! The whole family will enjoy it!

You do not  want to miss this “Spectacular” event!  Get to Roger Williams Park Zoo now til Nov. 6th  Visit the event website  HERE  for more info (including ticket prices)

(Dave and I were given complimentary passes to this event. However, we’d honestly pay double the asking price because we love it so much!!  And with the extended dates, we’ll probably go again this year! It truly is our Favorite Rhode Island event, year round, hands down!)
