As pretty much everyone who has ever met me knows.  I LOVE Disney!  The thing that might not be common knowledge is that I REALLY love the Disney Villains. Apparently it runs in the family. My dad has always been a huge fan of Maleficent, and Avery is becoming a Villain superfan herself!

When I first started seeing promos for Disney’s Descendants on The Disney Channel, I was intrigued!  It looked like such a fun movie, and I really wanted to see it! I thought Avery may be a bit young for it, but I was wrong.  She LOVED it! Especially Maleficent (Who is played by Kristin Chenoweth and is hilarious!)

If you haven’t heard of Disney’s Descendants, it is an Original Disney Channel movie featuring the children of some of Disney’s most famous villains!

We ran to Walmart to pick up a copy of the movie and we  grabbed the soundtrack as well, because it’s awesome! Avery has not stopped singing  “Rotten To The Core” The DVD came with a free bracelet, and Avery was so excited that it would be just for her! Disney's Descendants at Walmart

We also grabbed one of the Villain Kids dolls. Avery chose Mal, our favorite character. I also let her get some purple hair chalk so she could look like Mal! (And now I want to dye my hair purple again!!) Purple Hair - Mal Descendants Style

When we watch movies at home, I always like to make fun, themed treats. Avery has been on a milkshake kick lately, and while I don’t let her have them often, I figured movie night would be the perfect time.

I wanted to stick with our Descendants theme, so I got to work on some villainous Mal’s Milkshakes!

These milkshakes are simple, and only require 3 ingredients. Ice cream, flavored gelatin, and milk!  For this recipe I used grape and lime gelatin because I wanted it to be purple and green, but you can use any flavors you like!

For the purple layer:

3 cups vanilla ice cream

1 package Grape gelatin

1/2 cup milk

For the green layer:

3 cups vanilla ice cream

1 package Lime gelatin

1/2 cup milk

*Tip-If you’d like the layered look, you may want to put the glasses in the freezer, after you pour in the first color, to “Set up” a bit before you pour in the second color. Avery drinking a milkshake

Avery loved the milkshake, and loved having movie time with mommy and Mal!  Disney's Descendants on DVD and the Soundtrack

I really enjoyed Descendants, and the lesson it teaches about good overcoming evil.  Have you seen Descendants? Who is your favorite villain? Mal's Milkshake - Disney's Descendants
