Born Of Sound: Capturing Avery’s First Words

**Disclosure** I received a product in order to facilitate this review. As always, all opinions are my own**

I am always in awe of the new words that Avery seems to pick up every day. What started with just “momma” has become a whole vocabulary of friend’s and family names, animal sounds (A pig says “peep” apparently) expressions like “weeee” when we go on the carousel, shouts of “NO!” when she doesn’t want to take a nap.  Shrieks of “OW!” when I comb her hair, or try to get her to sit in the shopping cart. Turtle (“ertle”) “chop-choo”, “Yo-ho,” “Happy”  it’s something new and adorable every day. I wish I could capture ever single sound she makes.

One day I received an e-mail from a company called Born of Sound that had a new and innovative way to capture the beautiful sounds in your world. I knew I had to find out more.

So, what is Born of Sound and what do they do?  Well, they take your sound,  ANY sound, From a child’s laughter, or your wedding song to the engine of a 1965 Shelby Mustang GT 350, and turn it into a beautiful and unique piece of artwork to cherish forever.

I knew I wanted to share this company, and their amazing work with you, loyal readers! I contacted Jenelle, one of the owners of Born of Sound and got to work creating our Sound-form!

The process was simple.  The website is very easy to navigate, and beautifully designed.  It is set up to take you through everything step by step!

Avery and I sat down at the computer and recorded our sound!

It took a few tries, but we eventually got the recording we were hoping for!

I placed our order and then, we waited for our sound-form print to arrive!!

About a day or two later we received an e-mail with a request to approve our “proof” I think it’s wonderful that Born of Sound does this.  These pieces of art are an investment, and as with any design, it’s really great to see and approve a proof before the final printing process.  That way if you decide that the color isn’t right for you, or you made an error in the inscription, you have a chance to correct it before it goes to print.

Not long after that, Avery and I were visiting Albany and got the call from Dave that our sound-form had arrived!!

I couldn’t wait to get home and see it!

As soon as we walked through the door, I immediately opened the package! Our sound-form was packaged very well, and you can be sure that your art will be safe during shipping!

The first thing I saw upon opening it, was this:

How cute!

Also inside was our “Certificate of Authenticity”  with information about our sound-form as well as instructions for caring for it.

After reading through these items it was time for the unveiling of the artwork itself!!!

I *may* have cried a little.  I was in love with it!!

Here are two detail shots.

So pretty!! The background is a perfect, bright white-unfortunately my camera is broken so this was taken with my ipad.

I had Dave hang it in the most visible space in our home!  Right in our living room, above the couch, so anyone who visits will be sure to see it!

It get’s Avery’s seal of approval as well!

I can’t think of a more creative way to capture the awesomeness of your child’s first words! This is a piece of art that will stay in our family forever.

I can’t say enough about the amazing product and the incredible customer service I received from Born of Sound. Jenelle was such a pleasure to work with, and we will definitely be ordering another sound-form in the future-when we have another little one. As a testament to it’s beauty, Dave, who has never even considered getting a tattoo, thinks that our sound-form would be  perfect as a tribute tattoo to Avery! (Now to get him to go through with it!!)

And here comes the best part!!  Born of Sound would like to offer a special deal for all of you Sweet Lil You readers!! You’ll get a  12×24 or a 12×36  sound-form for $150!!!  That’s 50% off!! It’s an absolutely INCREDIBLE deal!!!

You need to contact Jenelle directly, by phone at 925-899-0120 or by e-mail,  jenelle@bornofsound.com and mention that you heard about them from “Sweet Lil You” and she will give you the offer code.

That is so beautiful! As a point of background, almost everyone in my family is hearing impaired, so to say that I understand sound as an image is an understatement! This perfectly captures the movement and fluidity of sound and is a wonderful keepsake of the interaction between you and your child. Love, love, love it!
    Thanks for sharing!
